Jump into quilting with this joyful improv mini quilt. Learn how to insert curves and waves to complete your own masterpiece. Final pieces can be used as a wall hanging, a front door quilt or made into a pillow.
We will cover the basics of measuring and cutting fabric the quilters’ way. We will talk about quilters’ tools and essentials. You’ll learn about different types of ombres; hue, value and tone. Your interpretation will give this piece its flair and originality.
This class is perfect for the intermediate beginner who already has basic experience and competency with a sewing machine. Some experience with hand sewing is ideal, but not necessary.
All materials are included. Sewing machines and all equipment will be provided. This is an 8-hour workshop, two sessions of 4 hours each. Light snacks will be provided.
In the first class we’ll piece the quilt in its entirety. In the second class we’ll quilt it and add the binding or backing, depending on your final goal. You must be comfortable working on a domestic sewing machine for this class.
