A 4-week creative workshop where you’ll explore your personal style, reimagine thrifted finds (or pieces you already own), and transform them into something uniquely you.
What if getting dressed felt more like self-expression - and less like settling? In this 4-week workshop, you’ll learn how to turn thrifted pieces or overlooked items from your own closet into a one-of-a-kind garment or outfit that feels truly aligned with your style. But this is more than a sewing class - it’s a creative space to get curious about what you love, experiment with new ideas, and build confidence in your eye. Through style exploration, inspiration gathering, thoughtful design planning, and hands-on sewing support, you’ll create something beautiful while learning practical skills along the way. Whether you’re new to sewing or already have some experience, you’ll leave with a finished piece, fresh inspiration, and a deeper understanding of your personal style.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of this workshop, you’ll:
What Happens Each Week
Week 1: Style Discovery + Vision Building
We’ll begin by exploring what you really want to wear - not what you think you “should” wear. Through guided style prompts, group discussion, and mood board creation, you’ll start identifying the shapes, details, colors, and overall vibe that feel most like you. We’ll also look at inspiring examples of thrift flips, embellishments, and garment transformations to spark ideas. By the end of class, you’ll have a clearer vision, a refined concept, and a focused list of what to look for while thrifting or shopping your own closet.
Week 2: Try-On, Play & Create the Plan
Bring in the pieces you found, and we’ll start experimenting. This week is all about trying things on, exploring possibilities, and getting inspired by each other’s ideas in a collaborative group setting. You’ll begin shaping your design, evaluating fit, and deciding what changes will help your piece better reflect your vision. Together, we’ll create a clear alteration plan so your project feels exciting - not overwhelming - and identify any extra materials you may need to complete it.
Week 3: Begin the Transformation
Now the fun really begins. Using the plan you created, you’ll start bringing your vision to life with hands-on sewing support and guidance. Whether you’re reshaping, shortening, combining, embellishing, or completely reimagining a garment, this week is about building momentum and trusting your creative instincts. You’ll continue learning sewing skills in a practical, real-world way - through a project you’re genuinely excited about.
Week 4: Finish, Refine & Celebrate
In our final week, you’ll complete your piece and focus on the finishing touches that make it feel polished, wearable, and truly yours. We’ll refine fit, solve final challenges, and celebrate everyone’s unique transformations. You’ll leave not only with a finished garment or outfit, but with new sewing confidence, fresh inspiration, and a stronger connection to your personal style.
Skill Level: Basic machine sewing skills required (please email us if you want to join but don’t have the skills to begin)

Meet Your Instructor
Hi, I’m Kelsea👋
I’m a Los Angeles–based fashion designer, seamstress, and the founder of Unndresssed - a creative practice devoted to helping people get dressed from the inside out.
I fell in love with sewing at nine years old, and I’ve been making things ever since. What started as a love of fabric, design, and the magic of transforming an idea into something wearable eventually became a career in fashion - and now, one of my favorite things is helping other people experience that same joy for themselves.
I believe getting dressed can be an act of self-expression, creativity, and confidence - and that sewing can be a powerful way to connect more deeply with your personal style. My only real fashion rule?Wear what makes you feel amazing. In my workshops, I create a welcoming, low-pressure space where beginners feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, and trying something new. My goal is to help you quiet the inner critic, trust your instincts, and make something that feels truly likeyou.
