Kids Sewing Workshops Age 8 and up

Lissa's Kid-Friendly Sewing Classes at The Moving Thread in Venice, CA, have been an absolute delight for my daughter. She has participated in various classes, each offering a unique and enriching experience.

She has participated in a fashion class with Rob and Lissa, where they taught her the basics of sewing and introduced fashion design. She also had the opportunity to join a private group class with her friends. This was a fantastic experience as Lissa tailored the class to their interests and skill levels, ensuring each child was engaged and learning at their own pace. The personalized attention they received was incredible, and it was heartwarming to see how much they enjoyed working together on their projects.

Most recently, my daughter and her friends participated in a kids' sewing workshop where they created backpacks. This workshop was a hit! The kids were thrilled to make something both fun and functional. Lissa's patience and kindness shone through as she expertly guided them through patternmaking, understanding the sewing machine, and assembling their backpacks. She clearly genuinely cares about fostering a love for sewing in each of her students.

I’m a nanny, and the 12 yo in my care took the Kids Sewing Workshop where they made reversible tote bags. She loved it. Learned a ton, and came home with a super cool tote she created. She’s signed up for the zippered pouch class in October is looking forward. I highly recommend these workshops. Lissa is lovely, and articulate. She’s patient, and is super thoughtful with the kids.
