In this 6 hour sewing and construction workshop, you will learn to sew your own gorgeous and easy to wear midi dress! This dress style incorporates pockets, gathers, a bodice lining and hems and can be worn dress up or dress down... with flip-flops on the beach or heals and out for dinner.

Light weight cotton will be provided for this project. Please add in the notes when booking your general clothing size (XS, S, M, L, etc. include bust, waist and hip measurements please) so that we can can prepare your fabric in advance.

All other materials included. Sewing machines provided.

* student must have basic sewing experience and be able to work a sewing machine comfortably

such a fun class!

Getting to learn with Lissa is such a pleasure every single time I get to take a class with her. She is so patient, kind, and knowledgeable. The dressmaking class was so fun and relaxing. I learned so much and can't wait to take further classes at Moving Thread. :)

Fun, meditative, satisfying, highly recommended!!!

I am so happy it was offered on a weekend so I could attend. I did an intro course prior to it so I could be ready and know the basics. Lissa is a very patient and caring teacher. She had everything ready for us and instructed each person based on their abilities. We all got a gorgeous dress out of it and bonded over our sometimes messy back-stitches and other snafus. I love my dress and hope to make a few more with other fabrics. The class is 100% worth the time and $.

Top notch!

I originally signed up for the Intro to Sewing 4 Week Workshop, and only half way through that series, I had already signed up for this dressmaking one! My mom, who can sew, had nothing but praises for Lissa and her instruction. She teaches you the "right" way...where seams are neat and hidden (even though they are on the inside). :) Whether you're a beginner or very experienced, you will learn something new in this class. Lissa is amazing and I look forward to signing up for future sewing projects/classes!

Made a dress for my mom!

This was the 3rd workshop I took with Lissa, and this course alone taught me so much about working with a pattern, garment construction, and creating the right fit according to body type. Lissa was super patient with all of my questions, and shared her extensive knowledge with me. The outcome was a beautiful dress for my mom - and it fit perfectly! Thank you Lissa!
