If you’re looking for a summer Fashion Camp in Los Angeles that blends creativity, confidence, and community, STITCHED Fashion Camp at Moving Thread is it. This isn’t just about stitching hems. It’s a full fashion design experience created especially for kids ages 8 to 13. At this Fashion Camp, campers get hands-on with everything from fashion sketching to garment construction, then finish the week by staging their own runway show.
Campers dive into a full range of creative fashion projects, learning how to:
• Create inspiration boards and color stories
• Draw fashion illustrations
• Hand- and machine-sew original garments
• Embellish designs with personal flair
• Build a 4-look illustrated collection
• Construct 1 to 2 wearable pieces like tops, skirts, dresses, or shorts
By the end of the week, this Fashion Camp wraps with a family-friendly fashion show, a true highlight of the experience.
This Fashion Camp is built for beginners and more experienced young designers. Whether your child is brand new to sewing or already obsessed with fashion, STITCHED meets them where they are. STITCHED Fashion Camp goes far beyond the sewing machine. Campers explore the fashion world from design to merchandising and styling, giving kids a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to bring a clothing collection to life. From first ideas to finished pieces, this hands-on fashion camp helps young creatives feel part of every step.
Rob Younkers brings real fashion industry experience to STITCHED Fashion Camp. As a former Parsons professor and designer for names like Dolce & Gabbana and Patricia Field, Rob gives young creatives an inspiring introduction to fashion design, garment construction and creative self-expression. He created this Fashion Camp to be fun, inclusive and confidence-building for kids who want to explore the world of fashion.
This Fashion Camp is about more than making clothes. It’s about making friends, learning new skills, and being part of a creative, inclusive community. Campers bring their own brown-bag lunch and enjoy group meals, collaborative work sessions, and lots of encouragement. Every day is packed with fashion design, sewing, discovery, and yes, sometimes a little fabric mess.
Everything your child needs is provided: sewing machines, fabric, tools, and creative supplies. Campers only need to bring their imagination, a brown-bag lunch, and comfy clothes they don’t mind getting crafty in. Optional: campers can shop for custom fabric if they want to personalize their fashion camp projects even more.
