In this hands-on class, you’ll dive into the world of pattern-making by creating your very own custom pencil skirt! Learn essential skills like measuring, drafting, fitting, and sewing a beautifully tailored skirt made to your exact measurements.
Start by drafting your own pattern, then create a muslin sample to ensure the perfect fit. You’ll make adjustments, refine your pattern, and ultimately craft a final version. The skirt will feature a hook and eye and back zipper closure, slit and a blind hem - giving you a polished, professional finish.
Machines and muslin will be supplied. We’ll guide you through selecting fabric and zippers, which you’ll purchase on your own. Once you master this classic design, you’ll have the foundation to experiment with endless variations of skirts.
This class is ideal for students with sewing experience or those who have completed an Intro to Sewing Series or its equivalent.
