ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Rob Younkers is a fashion designer, educator, media personality, and former Professor at Parsons School of Design.

He has designed and consulted for Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Patricia Field, Mattel, Vogue Magazine, Elie Tahari, Elle Magazine, and Threadymade. In 2007 he began designing a custom women’s tailored collection under his own label. Rob has been instructing up and coming designers for over fifteen years. He has taught internationally at Istituto Marangoni in Milan and for over 15 years at Parsons, his alma mater, where he began teaching three years after graduation, having been scouted by Tim Gunn. His involvement with a younger generation of designers began in 2006 when he mentored a 14-year-old designer on MTV’s “MADE”. Afterwards, Rob created fashion camps for several art studios in and around New York City. These ventures were the initial spark for what would become STITCHED Fashion Camp, started in 2013.

What sets Rob Younkers apart from others is how he has developed three careers simultaneously, as a designer, fashion personality, and educator. He has a natural ability to connect to future generations of designers of all ages and teaches the skills to take them to the next level. Rob was a cohost/fashion expert on LOGO’s Secret Guide to Fabulous for 3 seasons as well as the LOGO Minute Man. He has appeared as an on-air Style Correspondent for Yahoo Style, E! Television's Who Wore it Better!, ABC’s Fab Life, and Canada’s The Marilyn Denis Show. He is currently based in Los Angeles, California.

High Quality Creativity

My daughter loved every minute of this high quality creative workshop! Over the course of the program, she learned so much—everything from working with designing the fabric pattens and exploring textiles, building mood boards and branding and ultimately bringing it all together into her own final unique wearable dress!

What really stood out was how engaged and excited she was the entire time. Every week, she looked forward to this class and would come home bursting with stories about what she learned and created. It clearly sparked both her creativity and confidence.

Seeing her go from an idea to a finished garment was truly amazing. She was so inspired by her new sewing skills that all she wanted for Christmas was a real sewing machine!

This class not only teaches valuable skills but also inspires kids to express themselves in such a meaningful self expressing way. I highly recommend it to any young person interested in fashion, design, or creativity.

From dream to dress

My daughter describes this class as a place where your dreams come to life. From creating a mood board, to designing fabrics with 3D printing, to learning how to sew her own dress, she’s been fully immersed in the whole process. Seeing her proudly wear to school what she created has been incredibly special.

One of the highlights is the fashion show at the end, where all the young designers present their work to the parents. It’s amazing to see how much effort, creativity, and confidence they’ve built along the way.

It’s not just a class, it’s a full creative experience, so good that she chose to do it two years in a row.

Worth every penny

My 9 year old daughter fell in love with this class immediately and has made several outfits so far. It is expensive, but it’s well worth the price to have a one-of-a-kind piece at the end of each session and to see her confidence and friendships grow among the lovely teachers and fellow designers. Rob and Lissa are extremely supportive of the students. I appreciate their encouragement and see my daughter really flourishing in the classes. Siena says, “It’s really fun and creative and I love it so much!” We’re big fans obviously. I’ve just signed up for another series (I believe it’s the 4th) and for the Parent/Child class.

Fantastic! We are signed up for our 4th round.

Here is my review: Fantastic! We are signed up for our 4th round. My daughter LOVES it, as a parent we love it. Multiple physical project outputs, creativity, consistency, community. This is 20hours of work in 8 weeks! It is wonderful to see my daughter feel pride in what she created and have everyone helping. This class is truly fantastic. My daughter is 8 and she is designing her own pattern, printing, cutting, sewing entire outfits. Unreal!
