Patchwork with Rose Ponizil - Placemats and Coasters

Ever wonder what to do with leftover fabric scraps? Patchwork is a beautiful way to transform them into something new while enjoying a calming, meditative practice that encourages creative flow.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn essential patchwork techniques, including how to make:

• A “log cabin” block
• A checkered design (the fast and easy way!)

Once you’ve settled on a design, we’ll turn your patchwork into:

• A placemat AND/OR
• Drink coasters

All materials are provided, and you’ll have the opportunity to create your own unique placemat and/or coasters. You’re welcome to make as many pieces as you’d like during this three-hour session.

This workshop is perfect for beginners, as well as those with some sewing experience who want a refresher. While similar to our Intro to Sewing class, this session focuses more on creativity, color, and composition rather than technical skills. Experienced sewists are welcome too!

Age 16 and up.

Sooo much fun!

I’m a lazy creative. I need someone to sit me down in a chair, line up all the materials and coach me. Rosie did just that. She’s a great teacher; patient and supportive. She was there when I needed help and gave me lots of space to create and make wonderful mistakes. My patchwork creation is taped to the wall in my office. Smiling at me. Thanks Rosie!

Splendid Sewing

A throwback to another era when I’d spend summer afternoons, sewing with my sisters. Rosie is a patient and knowledgeable instructor. She created a beautiful space, nurturing our artistic inclinations through sewing.
